In 2016, Beast & Buckle's human co-founder, Stew, had his world turned upside-down when his father tragically passed away. The next year was very difficult, and Stew sometimes wondered how long he could keep fighting the sadness and devastation he felt following his father's death.

A dog lover through and through, Stew had gone his entire life without having a dog by his side, with service in the military and jobs with lots of travel making it hard to provide a furry friend with the life it deserves. With his career more settled, Stew sought to finally find a dog to share his home with, and it turned out to be the best decision of his entire life.

After searching and reaching out to find his perfect pal, he finally found a little French bulldog puppy he knew was the one. After waiting for weeks (that felt like centuries!), Stew finally got to meet his new best friend...and it was better than he ever could have imagined. From the first moment they met, Stew and Clark were the closest of friends; Stew had a new lease on life. About a year later, Stew and Clark founded Beast & Buckle so that they could share their love with the world.

Beast & Buckle is more than just a harness company—it's the result of the unbreakable bond between Stew and Clark. While Stew and Clark know that they were put on this Earth to be together, they know that they aren't alone in feeling this way—many dogs and their humans share a special bond that is absolutely one-of-a-kind.
